History
QC-OSA is the alumni association of Queen’s College, the premier and most prestigious secondary school in Guyana.
The Queen’s College Old Students’ Association (Guyana) (QC-OSA) (‘the Association’) is a non-governmental, not for profit, charitable body, comprising of alumni of Queen’s College (Guyana).
The Association formally adopted its current constitution at a General Meeting held in March, 1988.
The first President of the Association under the ‘1988 constitution’ was former Chief Justice and Chancellor of the Judiciary of Guyana, Justice Aubrey Fitz Ronald Bishop, OR, CCH, (now deceased). He was succeeded by former Commissioner of Police, Mr. Laurie Leyland Lewis, DSM, DSS, (now deceased) who served as President for more than a decade, until 2008. Former Principal of Queen’s College, Mr. Clarence Trotz thereafter served as President for one year followed by Mr. Neville Burke until Mr. Brian Woodroffe was elected as President in 2012. At an extra-ordinary General Meeting of the Association in October 2019, current President Dr. Arron Fraser was elected to succeed Mr. Brian Woodroffe.
Objective
The object of the Association is to bring together former students as well as staff and friends of Queen’s College in order to help preserve and foster the special character of Queen’s College and to provide various forms of assistance to the College, including the organizing of fund-raising activities for the benefit of the College and any charitable purpose connected therewith.
Management
The Association is administered by a Committee of Management. Seventeen (17) offices make up the Committee -

- Physical Education and Sports Advisor
- Six (6) Ordinary Members
- Immediate Past President
- Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Representative
- Principal of the College (ex officio member)
Officers are elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) which is held in the month of March. While a term lasts for one fiscal year, there is no limit to the number of terms which an officer may serve.
In execution of its functions, the Committee of Management may establish Sub-Committees for such defined purposes and objectives.
Membership
Membership in the Association is open to past students of Queen’s College along with members of staff (past and present). Membership is subject to and effected on the payment of an annual subscription fee.
All past students and members of staff are eligible for membership regardless of the length of time spent at the College.
Persons who are neither past students or members of staff (past or present) of Queen’s College may nevertheless be admitted to honourary membership in the Association as ‘Friends of Queen’s College’ on the approval of the Committee of Management, through the sponsorship in writing of two members of the Association, one of whom must be a former student or member of staff (past or present).
There are no age requirements for membership in the Association.
