BRAINSTREET also designed and developed a trademark Integrated Crime Information System which is currently deployed to the Ministry of Public Security. This system currently supports the workflow processes and the statistical requirements of law enforcement and related agencies throughout Guyana. Connected to the ICIS is a Prosecutors’ Management System that manages the workflow of all cases being processed and prepared for court. The functions include the following:

  • Registration of all cases submitted for advice
  • Assignment of cases to legal staff
  • Providing the electronic workflow to all cases persecuted by the DPP



BRAINSTREET conducted a technical assessment of the Ministry of Legal Affairs and the Department of Public Prosecutions under ICT component of the Modernisation of the Justice Administration System. Completion of this assessment saw the development of a public Trustee Case Management System for the processing of probate, letters of administration and related financial disbursements.
To successfully deliver this project and in keeping with BRAINSTREET’s comprehensive technical approach to project implementation, a situation analyses was conducted to determine the level of readiness for the implementation and use of the Management Information System and identify any gaps that needed to be addressed for the process to be successful. Functional arrangements and related protocols for the information sharing between the various departments identified to access and provide critical information were also developed along with the design schematics, data and work flow models that formed the basis of the development and implementation of the management information systems.

Under the Justice Improvement Project implemented in 1998, BRAINSTEET conducted a process review of the operations of the Supreme Court and requirements analysis of their informatic needs which led to the Development of an electronic cause book to record case summaries.
