A recent consultancy with ExxonMobil resulted in BRAINSTREET designing, developing and implementing a Supplier Registration Portal (SRP) in support of ExxonMobil’s effort to strengthen small and medium size businesses in Guyana. The intention was to improve competitiveness and drive inclusive economic growth. ExxonMobil also uses the portal to fulfil a deeper understanding of the opportunities for locally procured goods and services in Guyana. The portal supports users in three main functional areas: data collection, screening and supplier information reporting. Users of this system range from small business users who are interested in using the site to register themselves and become available for work with Exxon and other companies operating in the area to larger international organizations who will be interested in using the site search for local vendors. Analysts and perhaps government users will also want to use the site to get a sense for the types of businesses operating in Guyana and their strengths and weaknesses of businesses operating in the Oil and Gas sector.
